When the season started, nobody expected Chris Carson, a 7th round pick out of Oklahoma State, to emerge as the top dog in the Seattle Seahawks rushing attack. However, injuries to Thomas Rawls and continued weight issues for Eddie Lacy, have thrust Carson into the spotlight.

In last week’s matchup against the 49ers, the rookie running back thrived, carrying the ball 20 times for 93 yards, leading all Seattle rushers. Following the game, head coach Pete Carroll spoke highly of Carson’s performance: “I think we’ve got something […] I’m really fired up for him.”

Up next for Carson is a game against the Tennessee Titans, who insofar have been relatively staunch against the run, holding Leonard Fournette to just 2.9 yards per carry last week. However, owning a featured role in the Seahawks backfield, Carson will have enough volume to put up a decent stat line, warranting flex consideration.

Even if you don’t start him this week, Carson is at least worth a roster spot because of his potential in the immediate future. Do yourself a favor and add him while you still can.
