Buckeyes Edge Spartans, Remain #2
East Lansing, MI - Gareon Conley intercepted Tyler O'Connors 2 point attempt as the Buckeyes win a close one against Michigan State to remain #2 in the country.
Like years past, the Spartans and Buckeyes played another thrilling close game with Ohio State coming out on top 17-16 after a failed 2 point convert attempt by Michigan State. With the win the Buckeyes improve to 10-1 on the season.
JT Barrett rushed 24 times for 105 yards, and completed 10 of 22 pass attempts for 86 yards and one touchdown in the win. Tyler O'Connor struggled at the helm for the Spartans completing just six passes and rushing for just four yards.
Michigan State opened the scoring in the first with a 64 yard TD pass from Tyler O'Connor caught by LJ Scott. Later on in the first Curtis Samuel would receive a 24 yard TD pass from JT Barrett to tie the game at seven.
In the second quarter both teams recorded field goals for the lone scoring.
In the third Mike Weber ran 4 yards into the end zone to put Ohio State up 17-10. In the final quarter LJ Scott plowed from the one yard line into the end zone. MSU decided to take a gamble and go for two on the play but it ended up costing them the game.
The Spartans won last years meeting between the two teams 17-14. It has been a season to forget for MSU as they drop to 3-8 with the loss.
Next up: #2 Ohio State will host the #3 Michigan Wolverines for a chance to play for the B1G chamionship while Michigan State will close their season at Penn State. Both games to be play Saturday.
