Why OBJ should be the highest paid player in the NFL

Odell Beckham Jr. has recently stated that he wants to be the highest paid player in the NFL. This statement has received lots of backlash from media analysts and given Odell some unnecessary heat. There are people saying that Odell is already becoming a problem for the Giants before the season has started, or they are saying that he’s stepping out of place for saying that he should be the highest paid player in the NFL. While it is highly unlikely that Odell will become the highest paid player in the NFL he has a good chance of becoming the highest paid WR in the NFL. Through his first three seasons in the NFL Odell has had 288 receptions, 4122 yards, and 35 touchdowns. To compare Julio Jones has had 174 receptions, 2737, and 20 touchdowns in his first three seasons. Although we should note that Julio Jones only played 5 games his third season, but even if we tripled his numbers from that season he would still only have 256 receptions, 3897 yards, and 22 touchdowns. Those are good numbers, but they are still not near OBJ’s numbers. The thing is Odell is only 24 years old. He can still get better, and he still has plenty of time in this league. The people criticizing Odell over wanting to be the highest paid player doesn’t make sense. If I was a GM or coach I would want somebody who was working their hardest to make sure that they are better than the highest paid players, so they prove that they deserve to be the highest paid player.
