-The way things look as of right now, David Backes could indeed be returning to the St. Louis Blues. St. Louis appears to be the only team so far he has most frequently been linked to and while that doesn't mean much, the team will feel a lot more inclined to re-sign Backes rather than go out and find a replacement in free agency. If Kevin Shattenkirk is traded, expect Backes to be back in St. Louis as money would be freed up to sign their captain.

-Keith Yandle is one of the top defenseman out there on the free agent market and the Arizona Coyotes have a whopping $37million in cap room to add players to their roster. While they just acquired Alex Goligoski's rights from the Dallas Stars yesterday, if talks don't workout between those two sides, maybe the Coyotes and Yandle could consider a reunion.

-With Kyle Okposo not returning to the Islanders, it looks like Frans Neilsen's chances of returning next season look even better. The Islanders will look to prioritize re-signing Nielsen and Martin rather than re-signing Okposo.
