a few notes on the New York Islanders;

-John Taveras:

Rumors of John Tavares to the Toronto Maple Leafs continue but don't expect that to happen(if it even does) anytime soon. If it were to actually happen, it would be when he hits free agency in a couple of years if he even does hit free agency.

Travis Hamonic:

Isles GM Garth Snow explored trades for Travis Hamonic briefly, and one deal that he would've made would have involved the Islanders getting Taylor Hall and the Oilers getting Hamonic. Whether that's really true or not I question because that would've by far made a ton more sense than the trade the Oilers made to send Hall to the New Jersey Devils for Adam Larsson.

-Andrew Ladd:

Andrew Ladd is expected to be the top candidate to play on the first line this season for New York. That most likely means he will be playing with John Tavares most of the time.
