Best Pro Hockey Team P8 : Round B of the EFBG Challenge
In Article 7, the EFBG Challenge had continued and not one group had closed out the other three. Game 7 was between the 1E 1919 Montreal Canadiens and the 1G 1932 New York Rangers. There was real world information for this game when on 1-20-1929, the Canadiens won 1-0 so this was factored into the formula. The Rangers overcame the deficit and won 6-5. Golf now led Echo 4-3, but trailed Foxtrot 3-2.
The final game of the challenge was for the Yankee-Zulu Championship and was between the 1E 1919 Montreal Canadiens and the 2G 1930 Chicago Blackhawks and there was real world information for this game when on 12-11-1926 Chicago won 3-0. With this information, the score was tied 5-5 after regulation. After two overtimes, the Canadiens won 6-5 and was a very significant game. Echo Group claimed 4th Place in the Group Standings because they led all other groups in the challenge.
Echo had claimed 4th, but 5th, 6th, and 7th was still up for grabs. Round A Game 1 of this scenario was between the 3F 1927 New York Rangers play the 4G 1931 Toronto Maple Leafs. Toronto won 5-4 and Golf now led Foxtrot and Bravo, so if they maintained their leads, then they would claim 5th Place.
Game 10 was the final game of this round and was between the 1B 1922 Ottawa Senators and the 4G 1931 Toronto Maple Leafs. Ottawa won 3-2 in overtime and now Bravo trailed Golf 5-4, Bravo led Foxtrot 8-5, and Foxtrot and Golf were tied 4-4, so a round Bravo was necessary to conclude the challenge.
