The Return of Michael Jordan In 2017?

With Charlotte hosting the 2017 NBA All Star game, MJ might be returning to participate in the festivities. (NBAE).

Today it was announced that Charlotte will be the host of the 2017 NBA All Star game. This announcement means a lot more than it usually does to me because of a guy who works in their front office. You might have heard of him. His name is Michael Jefferey Jordan. The Greatest of All Time.

The All-Star weekend for the NBA has been lackluster in recent years. The retired players don't have any appeal to them. Wilkins is a great player, but he doesn't draw extra fans to the event. Penny Hardaway, Scottie Pippen, and Dell Curry were all good players in their own right, but they aren't a name that casual fans will remember. With 2017 bring in Charlotte, is it possible that we can see the return of Michael Jordan to the court?

In his Hall of Fame speech, Jordan joke at the idea of playing at 50 years old. Now MJ couldn't have played in the NBA at age 50, but he has played in some one-on-one games since his retirement from the NBA in 2003. The first one-on-one came between Mj and OJ Mayo.

. The most memorable exchange in the conversation is when Michael said, “We go back to playing, and he starts his whole thing ‘you can’t guard me.’ Finally I just said, ‘You may be the best high school player, but I’m the best player in the world.’ So from this point on, it’s a lesson. And from that point on, it was a lesson. He never won a game. I posted him up, I did everything.” MJ still has the confidence that made him the best player to ever grace an NBA court.

Then another story came out about MJ beating Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. At the time of the matchup, MJ was 49. Want to know how old MKG was? He was 7 months away from turning 20. MKG was even quoted as saying, "It was hard for me," Kidd-Gilchrist said before playing in the Rising Stars Challenge rookie-sophomore game Friday night. "I lost. He's the greatest man that ever played the game." These games prove that MJ can still play.

The option for a MJ return at the 2017 All-Star game is limitless. He could be apart of the Shooting Stars competition. One thing never leaves a Basketball player, and that's their jumper. It would be pretty cool seeing Jordan shooting; even if it's for a short period of time.

Another idea is that MJ be apart of an NBA Old Timer's game. Bring back some of the legends for a one-time game of basketball. I believe it will be good for nostalgic purposes.

No matter what it is, it'll be cool to see MJ on a NBA court in 2017.
