Darius Thompson's only 3-points in the University of Virginia's 72-71 win over Wake Forest Tuesday night could not have come at a better time for the Wahoos.

Thompson's long, rainbow-like three point jumper as the buzzer sounded was the difference in the game.

It was the one of three treys in the last 20 seconds of the game as Virginia went on a 9-1 game ending run to  stun the Demon Deacons for a big ACC win. In fact the "Comeback" Cavs trailed 61-52 with 2:08 left in the game, but outscored Wake Forest 20-10.

Virginia was flat out awful from behind the 3 points arch shooting 11 percent (1-9) in the first half.  UVA three point shooting was worse in the second half going 0-4 and then suddenly the Cavaliers couldn't miss threes in the final minute hitting 4 in a row.

Wake Forest picked the wrong time to lay bricks at the free throw line going 7-13 in the final minute.

Malcolm Brogdon dropped 26 points to lead his team but at the end of the day it was the shot by the unheralded sophomore transfer that was the difference maker on Tuesday night.
