The Playoffs Start This Weekend

It will be a busy weekend in Chattanooga and Atlanta to determine how one of the conferences work their way into the playoffs. But last weekend was interesting and fell out over social media.

The South Atlantic Conference is all Myrtle Beach. The Mutiny have 28 points in their matches to date- 15 points ahead of FC Carolina Discoveries. Railhawks Under-23 are a point back from there and Upward Stars have 7 points.

Last week, Myrtle Beach beat Upward and Railhawks. Discoveries also beat Railhawks to leapfrog them. This week, the Mutiny host Railhawks and Upward host Discoveries.

The South Central Conference was interesting. Corinthians still have the lead- one point ahead of FC Wichita, 31-30. But their season is done and Wichita have 2 games in hand. Tulsa Athletics are third with 21. The other 5 teams are separated by 5 points- Joplin Demize have 15. Dallas City FC have 14. Fort Worth Vaqueros have 13.

The biggest news came from Corinthians loss to Dallas City. The weekend started with a 4-3 at Vaqueros.

Then, everything fell apart against DC FC.

A C referee should never refer to points/standings in crucial league game. His comment "Yall have 28 points they have 8 I need to be fair"

Events got so bad from Corinthians point of view, that they pulled players off the pitch before the game's conclusion. FC Wichita knocked off Joplin. Tulsa continues their hot play of late- knocking off Houston and Joplin earlier this week at home. Dallas City added another win over Houston on Sunday after the win over CFC.

Vaqueros rebounded from the CFC loss with a win over Liverpool. Goalkeeper Arturo Sanchez talked about the season to date on Vaqueros Roundup

This week, the regular season ends with CFC waiting and watching. FC Wichita goes to Tulsa before playing at Vaqueros. Dallas City is at Vaqueros and Houston Regals. Liverpool also hosts Regals on Friday.

The Southeast is getting ready for their playoff final four. Chattanooga hosts Nashville and Silverbacks Reserves host Georgia Revolution. New Orleans and Knoxville are done for the year. Last week, CFC beat Nashville 2-0

Silverbacks Reserves beat the Jesters in their home finale. FOSG Jason Longshore caught up with Reserves head coach Alejandro Pombo:

"It was a good game to prepare for the playoffs. We tried to play with some rhythm in the game. I think we did that. We controlled the whole game and we executed what we've been working on in practice. We've been working to be more aggressive, and we did that on the field today."

The Revs got a point in a 2-2 draw with the Jesters before their match with Reserves and Knoxville had 6 put on them by Nashville as the weekend started.

In the Sunshine Conference, Miami Fusion are on top with a 22-15 point advantage over Miami United. Kraze United are next with 12 points and Weston FC have 10. Jacksonville United FC have 8 points and Storm FC have 5.

Last week, Miami Fusion FC drew Jacksonville United and Miami United put 3 on Storm FC. This week, Fusion finishes against Storm. Miami United are at Jacksonville before hosting Weston. Kraze host Weston and Jacksonville.
