In case you were wondering Major League Baseball fan---the Chicago Cubs have signed free agent Outfielder Jason Hayward to a $180 something million dollar contract Friday afternoon. Hayward played the previous season in St. Louis with the Cardinals.

The still young left-hand hitting outfielder had a typically solid season at the plate and was spectacular in the outfield. He hit .293 with 13 homers and won yet another Gold-Glove. Hayward joins a scary-loaded Cubs team and likely will play centerfield in Wrigley due to Jorge Soler and Kyle Schwarber. If you don't know who those guys are--you soon will.

Meanwhile, Cardinals fans have always wondered why everyone not from or living in their town hate them. If you want to know the reason why--then look at the classy responses such as this:

— Austin Martin (@bernbags)

This one says it better---or worse. There's nothing better than the emotional statements of a spurned fan:

First game... first AB. Start Rosenthal, throw 100mph heat square off his skull. Then do it again.

— Blair (@BlairLystang)

For signing with the Cubs Jason Heyward I hope you get Lou Gehrigs

— Seth Patterson (@patterson_seth)

The question here is this: Yes, we know the Cardinals and Cubs consider themselves rivals--we get that. But why the hatred for a guy that was there for one season?? One? It's not like he's a Cardinal lifer, Hayward arrived in St. Louis in 2014 as a result of a now lopsided trade that sent Shelby Miller and prospect Tyrell Jenkins to the Atlanta Braves.
