Thanks for checking out my 2016 Carolina Panthers mock draft. This will surely be updated at some point during free agency. It is really hard to do a Carolina Panthers mock draft because Dave Gettleman drafts the best player available instead of targeting needs. That being said he always drafts some linemen and a running back, so far. The Panthers do not have a 6th round pick due to the Jared Allen trade.

Carolina Panthers Mock Draft

Round 1

William Jackson III CB- Houston

The Panthers love to go best player but with the loss of Josh Norman almost certainly go cornerback here. Jackson may be gone but if not he will be a Panther. Jackson needs some coaching up but was a good college player and not afraid to tackle in the run game as well.

Round 2

Carl Nassib DE- Penn State

Remember when Gettleman double downed on defensive tackles with Star and Short? He does it with defensive ends this year. Nassib is raw but explosive and despite being 6ft 7 inches call can even drop in coverage from time to time.

Round 3

Maurice Canady CB- Virginia

Canady is not much of a tackler but is a long corner with some skills. A good prospect for the Panthers to develop.

Round 4

Max Tuerk C- Southern California

Tuerk is pretty interesting in that he can and has played multiple positions on the line. Very smart player but needs to add strength to play in the NFL. Coming off an ACL so he may drop to where the Panthers can grab him in the 4th round.

Round 5

Avery Young OT- Auburn

Young can play either guard or tackle and could be a good prospect for solid depth on the Panthers offensive line.

Round 7

Tre Madden RB- Southern California

Gettleman always likes to pick a running back at some point. Madden could be a steal if he can stay healthy but he didn't in college.
