Panthers blow 17 point lead and chance at playoffs

The Carolina Panthers blew a 17 point lead against the Kansas City Chiefs to send their playoff dreams down the toilet. The Panthers 17 point blown lead ties the team record for the biggest blown lead that they have ever had.

The Panthers looked good early and Cam Newton was playing well and even broke out the dab after a touchdown run. The Chiefs pulled a tortoise and the hare type of deal and just went slow and steady until they beat the Carolina Panthers.

The Panthers went a little pass happy with Cam Newton throwing 39 passes, completing 23 for 261 yards one touchdown and one interception which was ran back for a touchdown. Newton also ran 12 times for 54 yards and a score. Jonathan Stewart only ran 13 times for 39 yards as Mike Shula had Cam throwing often.

The Panthers are generally bad 2nd half team and the Chiefs are just so solid they kept playing hard and won 20 to 17 after Kelvin Benjamin fumbled trying to get extra yards for the Panthers. With only 3 wins the playoff hopes for the Carolina Panthers are almost certainly done.

If the Panthers win out and a few teams go into a tailspin then I guess there is a playoff chance but I don't see it happening. What I see happening is the Panthers winning 6 or 7 games and not having a top 10 draft pick next season.
