Miami Dolphins vs. Philadelphia Eagles Preview & Prediction
NFL Week 10 sees the Miami Dolphins travel north to face the Philadelphia Eagles at home. Here's a preview of the Sunday afternoon matchup.
On offense, Miami has been improving these past couple of weeks. Despite the offensive explosion in Houston several weeks back, Ryan Tannehill has played consistently, throwing for 280 yards in three games. The con, Tannehill hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass in two weeks and has been picked off three times. Rishard Matthews is starting to cool off, and Jarvis Landry is becoming the popular target, but he’s not producing. Lastly, on tight end, Jordan Cameron hasn’t had a big game. The bread and butter of this Miami attack is Lamar Miller, who has had six touchdowns and is playing like a playmaker.
For the Eagles, Sam Bradford and the offense are clicking. Bradford finally took care of the issues that the offense had. Jordan Matthews had a big day last week with 133 yards receiving and the game-winning touchdown, even though the rest of the Eagles receivers didn’t do anything. That’s something that needs to be adjusted in the later part of the season. The running game was great with DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews. Surprisingly, that are the key to this offense and having played a huge role is a goal for Chip Kelly.
Prediction: I see a game that’s going to have a lot of high-scoring. The defense will struggle, thus making this an offensive shootout. Miami will have Landry as a deep threat target that will open up plays for Miller and force Kenny Stills to play single coverage. The Eagles will open up the deep attack play book. With the offensive line playing at a high level, I believe that the running lane will open things up for Murray and Mathews. I’d expect that Miles Austin will have a big day, but Nelson Agholor could be a name to watch out for in this game. In the end, The Eagles will win by executing more plays and running out the clock. They will protect the lead with a 34-31 victory.
