Miami Dolphins: Big win Bigger loss
The Miami Dolphins won the game, they kicked the game winning field goal, they have an 8-5 record, but they lost their starting quarterback in Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill suffered the injury during the game in the second half which is most likely a season ending injury.
Next man up Matt Moore 32 year old out of UCLA and Oregon State. Matt Moore has been a reliable back up for the Dolphins and played some when Chad Henne was still playing for the Dolphins. He can hold his own, but almost definitely won't be able to do as much as Tannehill did on the run and outside the pocket.
The key here is to get as much as they can out of running back Jay Ajayi and help from the offensive line. But with a badly beat up offensive line it looks rough to get a solid running game going week in and week out.
The Dolphins end the season at New York at Buffalo and at home versus New England. If they want to make the playoff they need to win these games and hope the Denver Broncos lose at least twice. It's a tall order the Dolphins are facing and they Broncos also finish with New England, at Kansas City and home against Oakland.
If the Dolphins are going to make the playoffs they will have to do so without Ryan Tannehill. It is a tall order right now for the Dolphins down without their starting quarterback, but they have gotten this far and who's to say they can't make the playoffs?
